CrockPottin' Beef Stew
I am not a big crock-pot user, but I do love the simplicity of it. And now that fall has arrived stews, soups, and porridges seem to be on everyones mind and in their bellies. The beauty of the crock pot is you just toss it all in and walk away.
I used 1 pounds of beef stew cuts from Wal-Mart, 6 potatoes cut into medium sized chunks, 1 cup of shredded carrots, and 1/2 of a white onion cut into eighths. I added 1 cup of water, garlic salt, pepper, and several shakes of Bay Leaves and Basil.
I cooked on medium high for 5 hours, stirring occasionally.
Then on low cook power for about 1 hour.
Steamy and mmmm, mmmmm good...
The stew in a bowl. The husband was delighted, he liked this meal very much.
Served with a slice of sourdough bread and salad.
